PIERRE-LUC LAFONTAINE
COMMANDING OFFICER - APRIL 2023 -

LCol Lafontaine was born and raised in Victoriaville, Quebec. Following the completion of a degree in Business Administration at the University of Sherbrooke, he enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 2007.

LCol Lafontaine received his pilot wings in 2011 and proceeded to 405 squadron where he completed a 5-year operational tour prior to being posted to Winnipeg where he completed the Aerospace Studies Program with a Master of Arts (Aerospace) in 2017. LCol Lafontaine was then posted to Ottawa to support the CP140 Block IV implementation before being appointed as the Deputy Project Director for the Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft (CMMA) Project in 2019. LCol Lafontaine completed staff college and a Master of Defence Studies in 2022 and was posted to Greenwood to lead the CMMA transition. LCol Lafontaine was promoted to his current rank and appointed Commanding Officer of 415 LRPFD Squadron in 2024.
